What would you change?

I'm pretty sure its safe to say that we all enjoyed the book, but I'd change a thing or two. I for one think the ending was a little too perfect. It was a good book and all, but I think the ending was bland. Perfect endings don't exist, and in my opinion, shouldn't exist in books. Sure, once in a while we need a happy story to pick us up and keep us safe from the cruel world, but we need a little more reality. Anyhow, what would you change about the book, if anything?

  1. I can understand where you're coming from there. I would change how Huck kept going along with the Duke and the King and let them stick around for such a long time. For me, it was frustrating to read about them and all of there tyranny. Maybe that would've made everything a little too perfect though, huh?

  2. I don't like the ending because other than the character devellopment, the entire adventure was worthless. Huck's pap died so he didn't have to run away, and Jim was set free so neither did he. they ran all over creation and nothing really came of it because if they'd waited around a couple days, their problems had already been resolved. I resent that Jim and Huck were already free instead of having to get somewhere.

  3. I agree with you. I liked the ending somewhat, but it was too perfect. Throughout the story, there was some things that were unpredictable, and that made the story enjoyable. I think that if there was some sort of drastic twist it would have made for a better ending. Something like Tom dying, or Pap mysteriously coming back? I'm not sure. Something to that effect.

  5. I would have to disagree to an extent. For me, the book had so much going on beforehand that it was "busy". I think the mildness of the ending balanced things out for the readers. Sure, the ending could use a little more spice, but you don't want to overload. (Forgive the kitchen analogy-I'm hungry :]).
